Strategy Notes
- The Scout Rush is the foundational aggressive opening in AoE2. Critical milestones: lumber camp at ~50s, mill at ~1:40, Stable up within 30 seconds of Feudal.
- Weak against: Archer openings (Archers beat Scouts in Feudal); opponents who wall fast and produce Spearmen.
- Strong against: Opponents who donβt wall; greedy Feudal Age economies without early military.
Options:
- 2-Stable Knights: The standard Castle Age follow-up β add a 2nd Stable and produce Knights for sustained pressure.
- Pivot to Skirmishers: If the opponent has Crossbowmen, produce Elite Skirmishers to counter before transitioning to Castle Age.
- Feudal All-In: If opponent has no walls and no Spearmen, flood 8+ Scouts for immediate kill pressure before they can respond.
Defense Tip: Common beginner mistakes are forgetting to lure the second boar, building the Stable too late, and neglecting palisade walls. Note: Franks do NOT have Bloodlines β research Husbandry instead for speed. Huns require no houses, freeing wood for earlier Stable construction.
