Men-at-Arms + Tower Rush
Steps 10 · 6 → 21 pop · ~10 min
Recommended Civilizations
Goal: Control your opponent's access to resources by placing towers in strategic locations in their base and severely restrict their economy. Recommended civs: The source guide is civ-agnostic — any civ can run it. It works best with civilizations that have cheap or strong towers (Koreans, Incas, Japanese) or extra resources to fund the forward commitment (Ethiopians, Vikings).

Feudal: upgrade Militia to Men-at-Arms; send the Militia plus your Stone/Gold villagers forward
Strategy Notes
- Queue villagers continuously and build 2 Houses at the start
- Send villagers to sheep until you have 6
- 1 villager builds a Lumber Camp; +3 villagers collect wood
- 1 villager lures the nearest boar
- 1 villager builds 2 Houses near the berries; 1 villager builds a Mill next to them
- +2 villagers to berries; lure the 2nd boar
- +3 villagers to sheep or boar food
- 1 villager builds a Barracks, trains 3 Militia, then goes to mine Stone
- 1 villager builds a Mining Camp next to your gold; 1 villager mines gold
- Scout your opponent's base well to find their main gold and woodlines before going forward
- Upgrade Militia to Men-at-Arms as soon as Feudal arrives
- Send the Militia/Men-at-Arms plus your Stone and Gold villagers forward toward the enemy base
- Build your first tower out of your opponent's reach — it becomes the defense for your second tower
- Place towers on the enemy's gold and wood lines to deny those resources
- Use Men-at-Arms to chase isolated villagers and to screen your tower builders
- Pull low-HP villagers into a finished tower to garrison and shoot
- Build Houses forward if you run short on population space
- Weak against: Quick reactions — this attack requires a large commitment (around 5 villagers not gathering resources) and leaves you with a big economic setback if it fails. Opponents who scout early and wall before your villagers arrive blunt the whole plan.
- Strong against: Greedy and passive openings that cannot respond to forward aggression in time, and economies clustered on exposed gold or wood lines.
- This is a fairly complex build that needs practice to execute properly; it gets especially tricky micro-managing forward villagers and military while expanding your economy at home.
- The large commitment means a failed rush is a significant economic setback — only commit once you have scouted a good target.
