How to Play Malay

Ideal opening (Dark → Castle): Lean on the free infantry armor and open with a two-militia drush, then push forward with Spearmen to apply early pressure. Use the lightning-fast aging bonus to reach Castle Age and transition into Battle Elephants or a ranged follow-up.

Ideal late-game composition: Anchor the army with Halberdiers as your trash backbone, add Arbalest for your gold-based ranged punch, and bring Bombard Cannon for siege. Cheap elephants are a situational extra — Malay want to close out games rather than drag them on.

Deathball composition (closed maps / team games): Mass discounted Battle Elephants as the frontline, support them with Arbalest, sustain with Monks, and clear key targets with Bombard Cannon.
